The trees have leaves is a statement that sounds funny but it has real life applications.
Where does this weird phrase come from?
It comes from people that cannot see far away. They have better near vision than far away. We all know that trees have leaves. We can see and touch them.
You can say that theses people are idiots. They just have never experienced good vision. People are a combination of their environment and experiences that they have during their lifetime. If you have never experienced chocolate you would never know what it taste like.
After practicing for over 20 years it still surprises me when I hear "the trees have leaves" phrase.
Over the years and I hear that from different patients. We just don't know something until we experience "IT".
Many years ago, I have a 65 year old patient that told me he never knew that trees had leaves? I was thinking what a idiot, but he further explained that recently he got a eye exam and was fitted with glasses. The first time he walked outside of the office he looked around and saw the trees with individual leaves. We know all that trees have leaves but some people do not realize that you should be able to see the leaves on the trees from far away. You maybe asking how did this 65 year old survive with seeing well. He just assumed that how everyone sees. He was a in denial about his own health.
Thanks for reading.
